We all love our mom’s wardrobes and how we wish to get our hands on those timeless pieces. And we hate it when sometimes her sarees get stained or loses its charm. But this also gives us the perfect opportunity to revamp our mother’s gorgeous sarees into new age master pieces. And I know the minute I mentioned revamp all of you must have thought of ‘converting a saree into a suit’. But that’s not what I’m talking about. Here are some new and quirky silhouettes that you get out of your mom’s sarees!

  1. LEHENGA

If you’re revamping a saree for the first time then you can start with the easiest. Use your mom’s old Benarasi , Chiffon or a Net saree and convert it into a gorgeous lehenga. Get a matching blouse made and you’re all set for the occasion! You can wear the set with or without the dupatta depending on the look you’re aiming for.

  1. MODISH SAREE

This is another basic revamp. To achieve this look all you have to do is find a cloth of the same color as the saree you’re using and get pants made from it. And then take the old saree and get it draped over the pants. And if you’re still left with some cloth then use it for the blouse. This will convert an old piece in to a modish pre-draped saree with pants.

  1. CAPE

So this is where we start getting quirkier. For this you’re going to need an embroidered, lightweight saree. Get a stunning cape made from an old saree and wear it with a lehenga or even pants. You’ll be surprised by how lovely it looks!

  1. ANARKALI

We love the empire line silhouette but are bored of the regular style of wearing it with a dupatta. So to give the old saree as well as the anarkali a new age look convert the saree into an umpire line slit kurta and style it with pants. And if you really want to make heads turn then use a Benarasi or a brocade saree and convert it into a tie up cape with pants from the same!

  1. MODERN TAKE

This is the most off-beat approach, start with a saree and end with a totally modern garment. The first look is apt for those who wish to use a printed cotton saree. Convert it into a comfortable and quirky coordinate set for your casual outing. And the second look is for those planning to revamp a jazzy saree. If you manage to get your hands on a shimmery net saree then don’t think twice before converting it into a dress. Believe me it’ll look extremely gorgeous and no one will be able to guess that it’s made from an old saree.

And this is how all you ladies can give a fresh look to all the old sarees!
