‘The bride is always right’ and you made the right choice when you decided to go for a second dupatta. Choosing the second dupatta can be a tricky task, what color to go for? How much embroidery will look good? And whatnot.  But like always STYL-INC has got your back. We have ‘decoded’ the double dupatta. Here are a few things for you to keep in mind that’ll keep you sorted while choosing your 2nd dupatta!

The Monochrome Bride

If you’re planning to go for a monochrome lehenga, i.e. your blouse, lehenga, and the first dupatta are of the same color then your 2nd dupatta can be:

Of the same color as your entire outfit.

Of a different tone of the color of your lehenga. It can be of a darker tone or a lighter tone.

Of a different color but with similar embroidery as your lehenga or a similar color tone this will make the 2nd dupatta stands out but not oddly.

The Color Me More Bride

If your lehenga has already had 2 colors like the blouse and the lehenga are of the same color while the dupatta is of a different color. Or the lehenga and the dupatta are of one color and the blouse is of a different color or vice versa. Then your 2nd dupatta can be:

Of the color which is the least. If you take the 2nd dupatta of the color which is showing the least, that’ll make the color pop and create harmony. If you take the 2nd dupatta of the already dominating color, that’ll repress the 2nd color ever further.

Of a 3rd different color. Adding extra color never harms if done smartly. Choose the color of the 2nd dupatta keeping in mind that creates a balance with the dominant color of the lehenga. Eg: pairing a red 2nd dupatta with a blue color-dominated lehenga.

The Vibrant Bride

If your outfit is going to be vibrant, the lehenga, blouse, and dupatta all of the different colors then you’re 2nd dupatta can be:

Of a color that creates harmony with the color of the first dupatta.

Of a color which matches the color of the blouse of your lehenga

STYL-TIP: Introducing another different color is not suggested as it won’t balance out the look and instead will make it chaotic.

There are no specific rules or guidelines a bride should be told to follow. No specific colors you should avoid or go in for. It’s your day, make it how you like it with STYL-INC always by your side. Match your double dupatta smartly, look chic, and if confused at any point reach us at STYL-INC. Play with colors and embroideries and don’t settle for anything that doesn’t make you entirely happy!
