Laughter, family & tears of joy, that’s what weddings are made of. And at Stylinc we always try to preserve those moments in your memories! Especially when one is as essential as your wedding trousseau shopping. Our beautiful bride Manreet/ Ritu a teacher from Toronto, Canada, wanted a dramatic yet traditional look for her wedding. Where she wanted her groom’s outfit to match hers but didn’t want to make a trip all the way to India. As meticulous, and type A as she was, we camouflaged our ways to work through to her.
Our endevour shopping for her was a start to our ‘Virtual Shopping’ experience.
We scheduled a Skype/ FaceTime call with her to introduce ourselves & the services. Where we first got to know her likes & dislikes, guaging a sense of her personal style. Following which we proceeded with preparing some mood-boards for her. Being, true to the Image-Consulting expertise we based on pictures and videos deciphered her body type, a suitable color palette. Then made our suggestions accordingly based on her personal style, preferences, and budgets.
After the consultation, we proceeded with the design of lehenga she chose & started with our shopping spree!
An itinerary was made before-hand with the time so our bride could know exactly when we would make her a call. As she had to choose from the picks we made keeping her preferences in mind.
While we finalised & matched the border of the bride’s dupatta to the groom’s stole, the rest of the team made a chart on how to take the correct measurements. All the while curating the look for her jewellery & accessories for the wedding day.
For her Bridal lehenga, we chose a classic deep wine velvet with big & small floral motifs in gold zari. Paired with two dupattas in blush and salmon tones, all this while refering to the pantone color chart, to be accurate.
She was very specific about the type of chooda she wanted. We gave her a traditional bright red one with kundan kadas in the midst to give it a flair. Then came the most crucial part of the shopping, the Jewellery.
Giving our bride a royal look, we chose neckpieces & maangtika with emerald. Similar pattern of the kaleeras & the haath-phool (hand-harness) to amp up & complete the look!
Now our Styl-Groom, for him to match his bride we give his ivory sherwani with golden zari a matching velvet maroon stole & juttis. As we knew that it would not only look exquisite, but bring home that royal feel of the wedding. All of this done on the ‘Virtual Shopping.’
As our bride also wanted some trousseau, we got some traditional suits & gowns custom made.
When the final measurements were done, we placed the orders & co-ordinated with the stores from time to time. Getting updates on all the outfits. When the final delivery came, we inspected all the garments for quality & measurements. After a few changes as per Ritu & her groom to be were sorted, we packaged all the consignments with care & shipped it a month before her wedding. All the while taking care that our bride & her family don’t take the undue stress.
It was a virtual shopping journey! Where we made our bride happy with her purchases without once stepping out of the comfort of her home.
