Ever since March 2020, the corporate world has taken a drastic turn by deciding to shift their workforce remotely. We’re in our 5th month of the Coronavirus lockdown, but it seems like the work from home culture isn’t going away anytime soon. Now, while most people are adapting quite well to this new work pattern, for others, it can be a tad bit daunting. Regardless, anyone who is working from home is bound to experience fatigue from time to time. To establish a work-life balance and overcome fatigue during work from home, here are some simple tricks you can follow.
Strict logging off should be practiced after work hours. If you still continue to unwind by watching a few videos or Netflix-ing your favourite shows, make sure you close all work-related tabs on your computer first.
Leave your desk every hour
Whether you’re taking a couple laps of the house, or practicing simple stretches in your breaks, make sure you leave your desk every hour so as to avoid eye strain and postural aches. It’s also great to wash your face and eyes with water a few times during the day.
Don’t skip exercising
Even if you’re not big on doing a full workout session each day, you could go out and take a walk for 15-20 minutes in the fresh air. A little bit of outside can do wonders for your mood and overall health.
Spend time with family
The best way to overcome fatigue is to spend time with people you love and who love you back. It is great for mental fatigue if you eat at least one meal in a day together as a family. Everybody can catch up, talk about their day, and discuss fun anecdotes; it really helps to boost morale.
Get a good night’s rest
We can’t stress this enough, a good night’s sleep goes a long way. Despite the lockdown and all its stresses, make sure you get 8 hours of sleep at night to give yourself a good start to the next day.
In addition to all this, take care of your health by eating nutritious food, and establishing a routine for your day. To overcome work from home fatigue, your mental and physical health should be a priority.
