How many of us relate to the fungal and bacterial ‘surprises’ during monsoon? I definitely do and I’m prepared to combat them with full force. Here I present for you my game plan as monsoon beauty hacks I follow to the T.
- Parlor treatments take up a lot of time and make me feel like I’m putting my hard earned money down the drain.
Cleansing → toning → moisturizing
PRODUCTS: 1. CLEANSERS: neutrogena oil free acne grapefruit cleanser, clinique redness solution soothing cleanser, the body shop tea tree skin cleansing facial wash; TONERS: clarins toning lotion with camomile, clinique clarifying lotion; MOISTURIZERS: NARS terre neuve pure radiant tinted moisturizer, clinique moisture surge intense skin fortifying hydrator, garnier skin-active moisture rescue refreshing gel cream.
Just following this religiously at home does wonders for my skin and will surely work for all of you. This keeps your skin healthy and dewy regardless of the weather.
Styl-tip: everyone has a different skin type and the choice of products should be made keeping in mind one’s skin type.
- If open pores are your concern, then it comes with the hassle of blackheads, your go to should definitely be exfoliation done not more than once a week!
My go-to exfoliation hack is a homemade fruit peel scrub followed by a mask but for those of you who are the busier or lazier lot; here are some of my recommendations that you can buy.
PRODUCTS: 1) FACE MASQUES the body shop tea tree skin clearing clay mask, clarins extra firming mask, lancome hydra zen masque, ; 2) EXFOLIATORS: garnier skin active+blackhead eliminating scrub, neutrogena deep clean scrub, seaweed pore-cleansing facial exfoliator; 3) eye mask; 4) oatmeal honey masque, peaches cream masque; 5) cotton swabs and facial cleansing brushes; 6) evolve beauty organic skin care; 7) glacial mineral mud masque.
Life’s too short too have boring hair, and this monsoon girl, you got to make sure your hair stays healthy and beautiful.
Try not to wash your hair very often as it steals your hair of moisture and strength making them dry and brittle, opt for a hair mask instead of a conditioner.
Styl-tip : For an anti-frizz spray, mix up some aloe vera, essential oil and rose water, spray it on to tame those gorgeous locks.
PRODUCTS:1. the body shop fuji green tea fortifying shampoo; 2. garnier hold blends coconut water and vanilla milk extracts hydrating mask; 3. the body shop fuji green tea cleansing hair scrub; 4.LO’real paris ever pure sulphate free repair and defend shampoo; 5. lavender essential oil.
Gone are the myths that tell you that wearing makeup in the monsoon is damaging.
Styl-tip: prepping up your face is important before applying make-up. Either use a primer or even rubbing ice on the face is a good hack.

Those girls who don’t prefer wearing make-up regularly can go for the bare look. Just a stroke of kajal to the eyes and your favorite lip gloss and you are good to go!

Though we like getting wet in the rain but we don’t like it when we are taken by surprise, aagghh that sticky feeling and rashes. I keep my monsoon kit handy and pretty much suggest everybody to do the same. Don’t shy away from investing in a quirky raincoat and some pretty gumboots to complete the monsoon look.
Styl-Tip : those with a creative streak can paint their gumboots the way they like!
P.s. reminiscing those sunny day, keep your sunscreen handy and keep applying it every 2 hours. The harmful UV rays are still there even without the scorching sun.
If you drenched in the rain make sure you have a good shower, and wash off the bacteria behind.
While I sit back watching the patter on windowsill with my tea writing this I can’t help but smile, the fact that life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but to dance in the rain, and I shall do just that!
Keepin’ it Stylish,
